Special Education Paraprofessionals & Personal Care Aides

Qualifications: Preferred that candidates possess an associate degree or higher OR have completed at least two (2) years of postsecondary studies.  Those who do not meet either criteria must meet a rigorous standard of quality as demonstrated through a state or local assessment, which the district will facilitate during year one of employment.

Description:  The general duties of a paraprofessional/PCA include but are not limited to assisting students with special needs with general daily classroom activities under the direction of a certified teacher; assisting with implementation of behavioral support and health plans; supporting students in the general education setting; providing care and support for students' physical and emotional health; ensuring students' personal safety; assisting with data collection procedures at the direction of a certified teacher or administrator; and fulfilling all other duties as assigned by the Director of Special Education and/or Building Principal.

Location:  Positions available at all Lakeland schools

Compensation:  $16.00 per hour

Junior High Soccer Head Coach

Qualifications: Must demonstrate excellent leadership attributes to serve as an example to student athletes and the school community as a whole. Must also possess strong communication skills; the ability to manage a junior high-level athletic program, including working collaboratively with administration, parents, booster clubs, and others; and extensive knowledge of fundamental skills and strategies related to junior high school level soccer.

Description: The general duties of a junior high school-level head soccer coach include designing preseason and in-season programming to ensure preparedness to meet the demands of competition; implementing effective gameplans; supporting and maintaining academic standards among participants; working collaboratively with administration, including the athletic director; maintaining respectful relationships with and among all stakeholders; and maintaining reasonable standards to ensure not only a competitive program, but also alignment with the district’s expectation of fair and respectful play. In addition, the head coach must attend to administrative responsibilities including recommending assistant coaches to high school administration for appointment by the Board of Education, facilitating the distribution and collection of school-issued equipment, engaging with parent or booster organizations to support the athletic program, and other duties consistent with the role of a varsity head coach.

Girls Varsity Volleyball Head Coach

Qualifications: Must demonstrate excellent leadership attributes to serve as an example to student athletes and the school community as a whole. Full-Time First Shift Maintenance

Qualifications: Must possess a high school diploma or equivalency; a valid PA Drivers License;  provide references demonstrating successful employment from at least one previous employer; demonstrate an ability to follow oral and written directions; adhere to established safety practices; effectively communicate with diverse groups of staff members; flexibility to arrive early/stay late when needed (e.g. snow removal); ability to safely operate equipment;  and be able to meet the physical demands associated with the position, which include but are not limited to walking, climbing, bending, crawling, handling equipment, and be able to lift/move heavy objects.

Description: Maintenance personnel perform a vital service to ensure buildings and grounds remain safe, attractive, and functional, both during school hours and for events and activities outside of the school day. The general duties of maintenance personnel includes, but are not limited to performing routine labor, repairs, and maintenance on a variety of building and infrastructure components; mowing, weed whacking, and performing general maintenance on school grounds; performing snow removal on district roads, lots, and sidewalks; maintaining and preparing athletic fields for practice and competitions; maintaining groundskeeping equipment; maintaining landscaping, including mulching, weeding, picking up garbage, etc.; delivering items/supplies to classrooms and buildings; responding to staff requests quickly and efficiently to ensure safety and operational concerns are rectified; coordinating with the business office to order maintenance-related supplies when needed; operating district vehicles and equipment; communicating with and observing/assisting 3rd party contractors; and performing all other tasks as assigned by administration.

Compensation:  $18.00 per hour plus benefits per the 2021-2025 LESPA CBA

Full-Time Second Shift Custodian 

Qualifications: Must possess a high school diploma or equivalency; provide references demonstrating successful employment from at least one previous employer; demonstrate an ability to follow oral and written directions; adhere to established safety practices; effectively communicate with diverse groups of staff members; and be able to meet the physical demands associated with the position of custodian.

Description: The general duties of a custodian include but are not limited to promoting a clean, safe, and orderly environment for students and staff; performing general cleaning of classrooms, bathrooms, and shared spaces within the school; conducting setup and teardown for all school events and activities; performing snow removal during the winter season; assisting with maintenance of district buildings and grounds; and fulfilling all other duties as assigned by administration and/or the Head Maintenance employee of the building.

Compensation:  $16.00 per hour plus benefits per the 2021-2025 LESPA CBA
